Erectile Dysfunction Treatment

Erectile dysfunction can involve difficulty developing or maintaining an erection suitable for sexual activity. It may be associated with circulation, medications, hormones, stress, health conditions or other factors.

Available prescription options may include medications containing sildenafil, tadalafil, avanafil or vardenafil. Certain compounded formulations may contain additional ingredients such as apomorphine or oxytocin. The provider determines the appropriate medication, formulation and dosage based on the individual evaluation.

Some erectile dysfunction medications can interact dangerously with nitrates, certain blood-pressure medications and other drugs. Disclose all medications and supplements during your evaluation.

Compounded PT-141

PT-141, also known as bremelanotide, acts on pathways associated with sexual desire and response. A provider may evaluate whether a compounded PT-141 formulation is appropriate based on the patient’s symptoms, medical history, cardiovascular risk and current medications.

Compounded PT-141 is not FDA approved and should not be represented as equivalent to an FDA-approved bremelanotide product. Evidence and approved uses differ by formulation and patient population.

Private Care With Individualized Medical Decisions

Sexual health concerns are common and can have physical, hormonal, medication-related and emotional causes. Online care offers a private way to begin the conversation, but it does not replace necessary testing or in-person evaluation.

Purchasing a service or completing a questionnaire does not guarantee a prescription. Treatment decisions are made solely by the licensed provider and are subject to medical appropriateness, pharmacy requirements, state regulations and product availability.

Compounded medications are not FDA approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing quality before marketing.

Important Safety Information

Do not use erectile dysfunction medication with nitrates or “poppers.” This combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell the provider about heart disease, blood-pressure conditions, previous stroke, vision or hearing problems and every medication you take.

Seek emergency care for chest pain, fainting, sudden vision or hearing loss, a severe allergic reaction, or an erection lasting longer than four hours.

PT-141 may not be appropriate for patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure or known cardiovascular disease. Seek medical care for severe or persistent reactions.
